Canaveral National Seashore
Canaveral National Seashore is a protected area located on the east coast of Florida, in the United States. The park, which covers more than 57,000 acres, is home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, and offers visitors a wide range of recreational activities. One of the main attractions of the park is its miles of pristine beaches, which are ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. The park also boasts several nature trails that wind through the dunes and maritime hammocks, providing visitors with the opportunity to observe a wide range of wildlife, including sea turtles, manatees, and a variety of birds.
In addition to its natural beauty, the park also has a rich cultural history. The park is home to several historic sites, including an old lighthouse, an archaeological site that dates back to the Timucuan Indians, and a former military missile launch site. Visitors can also take a guided tour of the historic village of Eldora, which was once a bustling community of fishermen, farmers, and coquina rock workers.
Canaveral National Seashore also offers a range of recreational activities for visitors. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, visitors can also enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing on the park's waterways. The park also has several campgrounds for those who wish to spend the night and a variety of picnic areas for a casual visit.
The park is open year-round and there is no entrance fee. However, some activities like camping, kayak and canoe rentals and guided tours do require a fee. The park also has a visitor center that offers a variety of educational programs, including ranger-led tours and nature walks.
It is also worth mentioning that the natural beauty and ruggedness of the park served as an inspiration for the new Canaveral Dive Watch Island Series. The green color of the dial and bezel was carefully chosen to match the lush green of the local palm tree leaves and mangroves and designed to withstand the rigors of diving with its 200M/660ft water resistance and PT5000 movement.
